Sanitizing Your Water Filter

When to Sanitize

• After illness recovery
• Before sharing with others
• Every 3-6 months
• After filtering contaminated water

Sanitization Steps

1. Disassemble filter
2. Rinse with clean water
3. Soak in solution (see below)
4. Rinse thoroughly (3x)
5. Air dry completely
6. Reassemble

Safe Solutions

• Vinegar solution - 1 part vinegar to 3 parts water, soak 30 min
• Baking soda - 1 tbsp per liter, soak 30 min
• Food-grade hydrogen peroxide - 3% solution, soak 30 min

Rinse Thoroughly

After sanitizing, rinse 3 times with clean water to remove all residue.

What NOT to Use

• Bleach (damages membrane)
• Soap or detergents
• Alcohol
• Commercial cleaners
